In short. Aara is a private tracking and education app for adults. It is not a doctor, not a medical device and not a contraceptive. Your health logs stay on your phone. Aara Plus is billed by Google Play and renews until you cancel; the 7-day free trial never charges you.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are also shown in the app, word for word, before you start. If you ever find a difference, tell us at [email protected].
1. About these Terms
These Terms of Service are a contract between you and Ninaanu Ventures, a sole proprietorship based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India ("Aara", "we", "us"). They apply to the Aara Android app (package com.aara.app) and to aarahealth.org.
By tapping "I agree" in the app, or by using Aara, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Aara.
These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and do not need a physical or digital signature. Contact: [email protected].
2. Who can use Aara
Aara is for adults aged 18 and over. By using Aara you confirm that you are at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law.
The app asks for your date of birth during setup and does not let anyone under 18 continue. Please give your real date of birth. If you are under 18, do not use Aara.
Aara is for your own personal use, on a device you control.
3. Aara is not medical care
- Predictions are estimates. Period, ovulation and fertile-window dates are calculated from what you log and can be wrong, especially with irregular cycles, PCOS (PMOS), breastfeeding, hormonal medicines or a recent pregnancy.
- Not contraception. Never rely on Aara's estimates to prevent pregnancy. Aara is not a contraceptive or a fertility treatment.
- AI answers can be wrong. Aara AI is powered by Google Gemini. Its answers are generated automatically and may be incomplete, out of date or incorrect. They are general information, not medical advice.
- Doctor Prep is your own summary. The Doctor visit summary, its "Worth discussing" points and its questions come from simple rules applied to what you logged and, if you use it, from Aara AI. They are prompts for a conversation with your doctor, not findings, and not a medical record. Something not logged is not something absent.
- The period pain check-in is a guide. Its result suggests how soon to talk to a doctor. See a doctor sooner whenever you are worried.
- Health tips describe what may help some people. Results vary, and what suits one person can be wrong for another.
- Food, supplement and lifestyle content is general information, not a diet plan. Aara is not a nutritionist and does not know your medical history, allergies, medicines or test results. Please talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian before changing your diet, fasting, or starting any supplement, especially during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or if you have PCOS (PMOS), thyroid disease, diabetes, anaemia or an eating disorder. Traditional and Ayurvedic suggestions in the app are cultural information, not clinical recommendations.
- Links to clinicians are a search, not a referral. The "find a gynaecologist" and "find a nutritionist or dietitian" links open a Google Maps search. We do not check, rank, endorse or take any payment from the people or clinics that appear, and we are not part of your dealings with them. Always check a professional's own registration and qualifications.
- Always follow your doctor. Never delay care, ignore advice you were given, or start, stop or change a treatment, a medicine or a diet because of something you saw in Aara.
- Not an emergency service. Aara cannot contact anyone for you. In an emergency, call 112 or go to the nearest hospital.

4. Your data and your phone
Your health logs are stored only on your phone (see the Privacy Policy). We do not have a copy. This protects your privacy, and it also means:
- If you uninstall Aara, clear its storage, use Delete all data, lose or reset your phone, or forget your backup passphrase, your data is gone and we cannot recover it. Make an encrypted backup if you want a copy.
- You are responsible for keeping your phone secure (for example with a screen lock) and for your backup passphrase.
- The data export file and the Doctor visit PDF are not encrypted. Anyone who gets them can read them, so share and store them with care.
- When you share something from Aara (a PDF, copied text, a WhatsApp message to a partner, a cycle card image), the person and the app you share it with handle it under their own terms. We cannot recall or protect it after that.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you log.
5. Aara Plus, the free trial and payments
Free trial
New users get 7 days of Aara Plus features at no charge. The trial runs inside the app, needs no payment method, and never turns into a paid subscription by itself. When it ends, Plus features stop unless you choose to subscribe.
Plans and prices
Aara Plus is offered as monthly, 3-month and annual subscriptions. The current plans and prices, including applicable taxes, are shown in the app and in Google Play before you pay. The price Google Play confirms at checkout is the one that applies.
Billing and renewal
Google Play charges your Google account when you subscribe. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. If a price changes, Google Play tells you in advance as its rules require.
Cancelling
Cancel anytime in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; Plus stays on until the end of the period you have paid for. Uninstalling Aara does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds
Payments are processed by Google Play, and refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. If something goes wrong (for example you were charged but Plus did not unlock), write to [email protected] and we will help, including by issuing a refund through Google Play where it is due. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Restoring a purchase
Aara has no account, so Plus is linked to the Google account you bought it with. Use "Restore purchases" on the Aara Plus screen on a new phone.
What Plus includes
The Aara AI companion, the full set of AI-generated Doctor Prep questions, and no ads. Tracking, the calendar, journal, reminders, backups, the period pain check-in, and Doctor Prep with its PDF and its questions from your logs are free for everyone.
Fair use of AI
To keep AI available and affordable, it has fair-use limits (currently 2,000 requests a month per install) and short-term limits against automated use. Normal personal use does not come close. AI needs an internet connection and may sometimes be unavailable.
If we stop offering Plus
We will give notice in the app and refund the unused part of any prepaid period through Google Play.
6. Advertising
On the free plan, after the trial, Aara shows ads from Google AdMob on a few general screens, such as Home. Never in the Journal, AI chat, Doctor tab, period pain check-in, trying-to-conceive, pregnancy or Settings screens.
Ads are always requested as non-personalised and limited to family-safe (PG) content. Your health data is never used for ads and never given to Google AdMob. There are no ads during the free trial or for Aara Plus subscribers.
We do not endorse advertised products. Anything you buy from an advertiser is between you and them.
7. Aara AI
Aara AI (the chat companion and the Doctor Prep question generator) sends what you type, and the limited information described in the Privacy Policy, to Google's Gemini API through our proxy server.
- Please do not type your name, phone number, address or other details that identify you or anyone else.
- Do not use Aara AI for emergencies, diagnosis, choosing medicines or doses, or decisions about contraception or pregnancy.
- Do not use Aara AI to create unlawful, harmful, sexual, hateful or abusive content, or in breach of Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy.
- You are responsible for how you use what Aara AI writes.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, resell or redistribute the app, except where the law allows it; bypass or interfere with the age check, paywall, fair-use limits or security; call our AI proxy other than through the app, or automate requests; use Aara for someone else or for any unlawful purpose; or introduce malicious code. We may limit or block online features, such as AI, for misuse.
9. Intellectual property
The Aara app, name, logo, designs, text and content belong to us or our licensors. Fonts and other open-source components are used under their own licences (the fonts under the SIL Open Font License).
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app on devices you control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms and Google Play's terms.
Your data is yours; we claim no rights in what you log. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
10. Third-party services
Aara relies on services we do not control, each with its own terms and privacy policy: Google Play and Google Play Billing, Google AdMob, the Google Gemini API, Google Drive and Google Sign-In (only for backups you start), and Cloudflare (our AI proxy and website hosting). We choose them carefully and limit what they receive, but we are not responsible for their availability or actions.
11. Changes to the app
We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop offering Aara. We will give notice in the app before a change that materially reduces what you have paid for. Your data stays on your phone, so you can always export it first.
12. No warranty
To the fullest extent the law allows, Aara is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or error-free, that predictions or AI answers will be correct, or that it will suit your needs. This does not affect rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other law that cannot be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss; for loss of data stored on your phone; for loss caused by relying on predictions, health content, Doctor Prep or AI answers instead of a doctor; or for the acts of third-party services.
Our total liability for all claims relating to Aara is limited to the greater of (a) what you paid for Aara Plus in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) ₹500.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or takes away your rights as a consumer.
14. Your responsibility to us
If you use Aara in breach of these Terms or the law and someone brings a claim against us because of it, you will cover the reasonable losses that result, to the extent the law allows.
15. Suspension and ending
You can stop at any time: cancel any subscription in Google Play, use Settings → Delete all data, and uninstall.
We may suspend or end access to online features (such as AI and purchases) if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the service or other people. Features that work offline on your phone keep working. Sections 3, 4, 9, 12, 13, 14 and 17 continue to apply after access ends.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will change the version number and effective date, and for a material change the app will show you the new Terms to accept before they apply to you. If you do not agree, stop using Aara and cancel any subscription; your data stays on your phone.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a problem, please write to our Grievance Officer first; most issues can be fixed quickly.
Subject to that, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also approach a Consumer Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 where the law allows, and nothing in these Terms limits that right.
18. Grievance Officer and contact
Grievance Officer, Ninaanu Ventures, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Email: [email protected]. Write to this address for anything about your data, a complaint about the app, or a billing problem, and say what you would like us to do.
We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 30 days, in line with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
19. General
These Terms, the Privacy Policy and, for purchases, Google Play's terms are the whole agreement between you and us about Aara. If a part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term straight away is not a waiver of it. We may transfer these Terms to a successor of the Aara business with notice to you, without reducing your rights. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of Google or Cloudflare services. If these Terms are translated, the English version applies.
